Abstract

Noon-Meem Rashid was an important poet of modern poetry. He introduced a unique and new dimension of poetry by deviating from the popular and traditional styles, figures and themes of poetry. The effects of Freud's theory of gender on his early poems. It is very clear. In these poems, along with sexual elements, mythological elements are also used. Rashid did not make gender a constant theme. He got tired of it very quickly. He was influenced by Western poetry. However, he based his poems on eastern cultural elements. Rashid has the concept of an individual who strives for both physical and spiritual pleasures. Rashid presents this persona in his poems with Hindi and Iranian mythology along with Islamic symbols, metaphors and allusions in a very unique and untouched way. Rashid rediscovers time through mythological symbols and metaphors. He has found new meanings by adapting the mythological symbols and signs to the present. This makes Rashid's poem different from the contemporary poem. Rashid's poem deserves to be called a modern poem in the true sense.
